Students will be given direct instruction on how to make charcoal drawings, draw a live model, create still life paintings, and create mixed media pieces. Students get ample time to work on their pieces under the guidance of a professional artist, and in the company of other classmates who like spending hours doing art. Students will also take a field trip to spots in the community as well as an art gallery or museum in the city. Students will put together a gallery of their work to display for friends and family to come see.
Participants must be entering grades 6 to 8.
